The day has been chosen to celebrate Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee since January 9, 1967 was the date of the first large shipment of coffee beans to Japan.
Grown in the hilly climes of the Blue Mountain Peak, this special Jamaican coffee is a connoisseurs delight and is sought after by locals and foreigners alike.
Coffee not only tastes good or gives us the much-needed energy to get through busy days but studies have shown that drinking the right amount of coffee is also good for our health.

Drinking coffee daily is said to reduce to risk of hypertension, heart failure, and fibrillation. According to a research published by the European Journal of Preventative Cardiology, research found that persons who drank two to three cups of coffee per day had a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and early death compared to those who avoided drinking coffee.
While many persons may be afraid to consume caffeine daily, the recommended portion for adults is up to 400 mg per day.
