What started as a wholesome interaction during iShowSpeed’s Jamaica visit quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the streamer’s Caribbean tour stop on the island.
After the clip of Downtown Kingston vendor Tenneil Campbell handing Speed a Supligen went viral across social media, Supligen moved quickly to find and reward the man behind the moment.
On Saturday (May 9), the brand surprised Campbell with a one-year supply of Supligen totalling 52 cases, a brand new cellphone to support his business and a grand gift basket courtesy of the Seprod Group.
Campbell captured widespread attention on Friday after his interaction with the global streamer spread rapidly online, with viewers praising the authentic Jamaican energy and personality of the exchange. As the moment gained traction, Jamaicans rallied behind Campbell, applauding him for creating one of the standout cultural moments from the visit.
Campbell explained that after hearing the excitement surrounding iShowSpeed’s visit to Jamaica, he saw an opportunity to offer the streamer one of the products he proudly sells every day from his cooler, a can of Supligen. As a Downtown Kingston vendor of more than 20 years, regularly selling water, juices, coconut jelly and of course, Supligen, Campbell said he believed the drink would give Speed the energy boost needed to keep going throughout his tour of the island.
During the visit, Brand Manager, Deidra Grey, explained, “After we saw the viral moment created by Tenneil, we knew we had to pay him a visit and personally ‘big him up’ for creating such an authentic Jamaican experience. Everybody knows Supligen Boosts You Up, and that is exactly what Tenneil did in that moment. We are proud to celebrate him and show appreciation for the impact he created, not just for the brand, but for Jamaica as well.”
For Supligen, the moment reflects the bold energy, authenticity and entrepreneurial spirit that Jamaicans naturally bring to the world stage every day.
