Cologne-based producer DJ Densen strengthens his connection to Jamaica with the release of ‘Provider‘, a soulful new collaboration featuring reggae recording artiste Jahmiel.

Recorded during Densen’s visit to Kingston in early 2025, the single represents a deliberate fusion of European production sensibilities and Jamaican storytelling. Due for official release on February 27 across all major digital streaming platforms, the collaboration came after years of mutual respect, with Jahmiel selecting the riddim from a curated collection of Densen’s instrument-driven compositions.

The producer originally built the track during the depths of a German winter, layering live guitars, warm melodies and textured drums to create a sense of uplift. Once in Jamaica, that foundation evolved into a powerful anthem of perseverance.

“Working with Jahmiel was a long-term goal for me,” Densen explains. “I’ve rated his music for years. Recording in Kingston and seeing how he connected with the riddim brought everything full circle.”

Jahmiel says the production immediately resonated.

“This is a nice beat with soul, which automatically led me to sing from the heart,” he shares. “Thinking about my past and the tribulations I’ve overcome, the concept for ‘Provider’ came to life.”

At its core, the single delivers a message of faith and resilience (themes that have long defined Jahmiel’s catalogue) while also reinforcing Densen’s commitment to authentic, instrument-rich Dancehall and Reggae production.

For Densen, whose credits include Romain Virgo’s hit ‘Good Woman‘, the release marks another step in his mission to connect European studios with Jamaica’s creative heartbeat.

“The approach to my productions has always been international,” he says. “We see ourselves as ambassadors for Caribbean music in Europe. Jamaica is the source, and collaborating here gives the music its real energy.”

Released through a sub-label of the legendary Silly Walks Discotheque, ‘Provider‘ underscores the growing creative exchange between Germany and Jamaica, positioning DJ Densen as an increasingly active force within the island’s music landscape.
