The World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVAX Facility has delivered its second shipment of AstraZeneca vaccines to Jamaica, with a batch of 55,200 doses that landed on the island approximately 4:30 p.m. today (April 26).
The shipment was received by Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton, who was present on the tarmac of the Norman Manley International Airport at the time of the vaccine’s arrival.
This shipment is the fourth of Jamaica’s vaccine shipments and was preceded by a shipment of 75,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the African Medical Supply Platform received on Thursday (April 8).
