The Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA) notes a confident and encouraging start from its U15 delegation competing at the youth championship in the Dominican Republic.
The Jamaica U15 Boys delivered an early statement with a 3–1 victory over Barbados, a respected regional opponent. The result sets an early tone for the campaign and reflects a strong collective effort, with the group executing in key moments to secure the win.
Representing Jamaica in the U15 Boys are:
Ajani Spencer, Kyle Johnson, Khalil Hall, and Anthony Bird. Meanwhile, the U15 Girls are: Kira Scott, Christina Royes, and Taherra Allison.
The athletes are adapting well to the level of competition, improving with each outing, and showing steady progress in their overall match performance.
Barbados provided a strong early test. Jamaica responded well and set a clear standard moving forward.
Statement from Aubyn Henry, chief development and strategy officer at the JTTA is encouraged by the performance of the squads, so far, and looks forward to continued upward momentum.
“This youth championship is a valuable step in our development pathway. It places our U15 athletes in a competitive environment that demands focus, adaptability, and consistency,” he said. “What we are seeing is growth through exposure. The players are learning how to adjust in real time, manage pressure moments, and elevate their performance against regional opposition. That is the real purpose of this experience.
The priority remains simple: continue developing athletes who are better prepared for higher levels of competition.”
