Itel to open 34,000-square-foot contact centre next week in Louisville

Jamaican business process outsourcing (BPO) company, Itel, is establishing its first physical footprint in the United States with a facility in the Louisville area of Jacksonville, Indiana.
Itel, based in Montego Bay, St James, yesterday announced plans to open a contact centre in Louisville, where it will be handling customer care calls, chats and emails for an unnamed Fortune 500 luxury fashion retailer there. The company’s chief marketing officer, Melissa von Frankenberg, has declined to disclose the name of the brand its working with.
The Jamaican BPO, which specialises in customer experience, is moving into a 34,000-square-foot building on 4500 Town Center Blvd. The contact centre is set to open on October 1.

In a release yesterday announcing its foray into the US, Itel said the centre would immediately create 150 jobs in the area with above-average hourly rates. The business anticipates employing more than 300 people by 2022.
Although this is the first physical US location, Itel has a network of work-from-home employees across the country.
While not naming the new client, Yoni Epstein, founding chairman and CEO of Itel, remarked: “Now, with the onboarding of one of the highest grossing luxury retailers in the business, the opportunity has presented itself and the timing couldn’t be better. We look forward to working with the people of Southern Indiana and creating careers that will support the local economy of Jeffersonville.”
Itel, formerly known as itelbpo, was founded in 2012 in Montego Bay and is a customer experience partner with operations across the Caribbean, Latin America, the US and Canada. It employs 4,500 people in nine countries.
