The Jamaican Bar Association (JAMBAR), on Saturday, April 18, 2026, celebrated the return of its Sports & Family Fun Day at the JDF Mini Stadium, Up Park Camp.
The successful staging marked the revival of a tradition of wellness, camaraderie, and professional connection within the legal community, being the first event since 2019.
Organised by JAMBAR’s Membership Committee under the leadership of Chairman Chevánt Hamilton, the event forms part of the association’s renewed focus on structured member engagement and community‑building. The 2026 staging drew strong participation from attorneys across private practice, government, and corporate sectors.
After spirited competition, the General Practice Attorneys (Green Team) emerged as overall champions, showcasing consistent performance across the day’s activities.
Reflecting on the day, Hamilton noted: “The return of Sports & Family Fun Day represents more than just an event. It signals a deliberate effort to rebuild connection and engagement within the Bar. The level of participation and support this year demonstrates the value of these initiatives to our members.”
He further revealed JAMBAR intends to strengthen and expand the Sports & Family Fun Day as a core feature of its annual programme and broaden participation across the wider legal community. The Membership Committee will also continue to roll out initiatives to advance professional development, engagement, and well-being within the profession.
Meanwhile, JAMBAR expressed appreciation to its corporate sponsors — FESCO Water, Restaurant Associates Limited, and GraceKennedy — whose support was instrumental in the event’s success. The association also extended gratitude to the Jamaica Defence Force for facilitating the use of it mini-stadium and providing invaluable logistical support.
