Jamaican triple jumper Jaydon Hibbert has landed a sponsorship deal with the German sportswear manufacturer, Puma.
Hibbert made the big announcement on Monday, January 29, in a social media post on Instagram.
“Super excited for this journey with the FAM @pumarunning @puma. Thanking Christ Jesus for this amazing opportunity! Praying that he alone will be glorified! #professionalathlete#puma,” a grateful Hibbert noted in a brief post.
The announcement comes days after the 19-year-old athlete announced that he will be stepping into a professional career in athletics, ending his NCAA at the University of Arkansas.
During his time at the University of Arkansas, Hibbert has achieved several wins. He currently holds the world U-20 outdoor and indoor records in the triple jump.
Hibbert joins a cohort of talented Jamaican athletes such as Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson, Yohan Blake, and Elaine Thompson-Herah, among others, who have signed with the sportswear giant.
He won the prestigious Bowerman Award in 2023, the highest accolade given to the year’s best student-athlete in American collegiate track and field.
