Keith Duncan, CEO of the JMMB Group, has been appointed to serve in the Senate under the Andrew Holness-led Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) administration.

Duncan, a respected financier and former chairman of the Economic Programme Oversight Committee (EPOC), is most recently chairman of the Independent Fiscal Advisory Committee.

In congratulating its chief executive, JMMB maintained that the group “remains politically neutral and is not aligned with any political party”.

“This appointment is in recognition of  Duncan’s long-standing and consistent commitment to nation-building and his deep contributions to Jamaica’s economic and social development over the past two decades. His service has consistently transcended political lines, reflecting the values of love, fairness, integrity and the best interests of all Jamaicans,” the company stated.

Duncan’s leadership has been instrumental in several key national initiatives, including the Jamaica Debt Exchange (JDX) under the Bruce Golding administration; National Debt Exchange (NDX), Fiscal Advisory Committee and support for the Independent Fiscal Commission; contributions to Project STAR, NICTAC, the National Broadband Initiative, and the divestment of Caymanas Track Limited.

He also served a president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), where he championed inclusive growth and private sector collaboration.

During his tenure as the head of the PSOJ, Keith conceptualised and developed Project STAR, which is a partnership for social and economic transformation in Jamaica between the PSOJ and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), targeted at supporting underserved communities to work together with the wider community to develop their members and improve their quality of life.  Since its inception in 2022, Project STAR has engaged over approximately 11,000 programme participants in STAR-led and supported initiatives in its five (5) targeted communities: Rose Gardens, Parade Gardens, May Pen West, Savanna-La-Mar, and Salt Spring. These initiatives have led to reduced crime and increased access to training, employment and opportunities.

Keith’s role in national initiatives has contributed significantly to Jamaica’s economic resilience, improved fiscal governance, and strengthened public-private partnerships. Keith’s leadership has helped shape a more transparent and accountable economic framework, fostered inclusive development, and supported national initiatives that uplift communities and drive long-term progress.

“I feel privileged to be afforded the opportunity to serve in the Senate and contribute to shaping policies that support the development of our people and fuel Jamaica’s inclusive growth to the benefit of each Jamaican,” said Keith Duncan.

“I humbly accepted this appointment because of the platform it provides to better stand for the development of our people and inclusive growth. I remain committed to continuing to serve all Jamaicans with equity, transparency, and love, while continuing to lead the JMMB Group with the same passion and focus that our clients and stakeholders have come to expect.”
