Keeping pace with Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Pearnel Charles Jr’s recent announcement of the return of agri-centric festivals and shows; JP Farms has committed $500,000 to the St Mary Agri-Expo after a two-year hiatus.
The popular agricultural show will be held at the JP Farms Sports Complex at Gray’s Inn in Annotto Bay, St Mary this coming Easter Monday (April 18).
In a show of support for the tireless efforts of local farmers, JP Farms will present cheques to the top performing farmers in the signature ‘Champion Farmers’ competition.
‘CELEBRATING OUR FARMERS’
According to JP Farms General Manager Mario Figueroa: “The restart of agricultural shows and festivals, at national and community levels is cause for much celebration. Our farmers have done a tremendous job at sustaining our nation throughout the pandemic and their efforts should be recognised. JP Farms looks forward to supporting experiences like the St Mary Agri-Expo that expose the young and the old to the skill and diversity of this vital industry.”
Echoing the sentiment, Fabian Rhule, chairman of the St Mary Agri-Expo, noted: “At its heart, the St Mary Agri-Expo is wholly about celebrating our farmers. These hardworking men and women need our support and are deserving of recognition. JP Farms has shown its support to the farming community for years. We are grateful for their commitment and look forward to strengthening the partnership”.
The family-friendly affair will feature more than 80 exhibitors, a horticultural show and animals on display among other activities.
