After a weekend-long tirade, it appears music and fashion mogul Kanye West has reached the eye of the storm, vowing to take accountability for his actions.

After an influx of revealing posts made over the Super Bowl weekend, the artiste cleaned his Instagram account, which included text messages between him and estranged wife Kim Kardashian, as well as multiple memes jabbing at the American socialite’s boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson, accompanied by harassing, all-block letter captions.

Uploading a picture of himself standing on stage, surrounded by mist, West seemed remorseful for his actions, penning the caption: “I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them. I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders.”

The Praise God rapper continued his statement by making reference to his weekend posts, seemingly taking responsibility for his actions.

“Thank everybody for supporting me. I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability. “

West, on the weekend, posted multiple private conversations between himself and estranged wife, Kim, who tried to explain that his series of posts directed at Davidson could create a dangerous environment for her boyfriend.

“You are creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,” Kardashian-West wrote.

Seemingly in an effort to honour his wife’s request, he shared the conversation, adding the caption: “UPON MY WIFE’S REQUEST PLEASE NOBODY DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL TO SKETE I’M GOING TO HANDLE THE SITUATION MYSELF.”

Kardashian-West’s message perhaps stemmed from her estranged husband’s previous jabs at the comedian, as well as two memes the artiste uploaded on the weekend which suggested both he and his wife’s boyfriend would go head to head.

In one of the now deleted posts, an edited Captain America: Civil War movie poster shows West and Davidson each leading a team of celebrities against each other, much as occurred with Captain America and Iron Man in the Marvel blockbuster film.

West’s team consists of Drake, former girlfriend Julia Fox, Travis Scott and rapper Future. While Davidson’s team includes Kim Kardashian-West, West’s former ally Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift.

West’s attacks over the weekend were also aimed at rapper and frequent collaborator Kid Cudi, whose friendship with Davidson caused West to not only unfriend him but remove him from the upcoming Donda 2 album.

In his subsequent apology, West, who has been diagnosed as bipolar, said he was still learning in real time, adding: “I don’t have all the answers. To be a good leader is to be a good listener.”

Since filing for divorce in February 2021, Kardashian-West has shunned several attempts by her husband to reconcile. Along with his Instagram cleanse and apology, West made a post of his attempt to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the mother of his four children.

On February 14, he shared photos of a pick-up truck filled with roses, which seemed to be en route to the SKIMS founder.

Despite his claim that he was taking accountability for his actions, a few hours later, the Donda rapper shared a now deleted post of a roadside billboard which appeared to be another message directed at Kardashian-West.

“Stop telling fathers they should have fought harder to see their children & start asking mothers why he had to fight at all.”

At the time of writing, West’s Instagram page consisted only of two posts. One, his post which expressed accountability for his actions, as well as a post announcing the Supreme brand’s decision to name Tremaine Emory as creative director.

The Supreme brand and West collaborated for the Adidas Supreme X Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Unisex.
