Kaysia Johnson Vaughan takes an engaging approach to banking. Her professionalism, added with her personality, has won her many admirers over the years.

She was a Scotiabank stalwart, ascending the ranks to hold the position of Director of SME, Client Experience for the Caribbean and Central America at Scotiabank.

Her work ethic and accomplishments have now led to her appointment as Group Head of Marketing and Communications of NCB  Financial Group with oversight of Cayman Islands, Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago.

This is a considerable move on the up escalator of Kaysia Johnson Vaughan’s career. The appointment is with immediate effect and she already has her feet underneath the table.

It’s generally the case that bankers are conservative, by the book and rigidly adhere to their institution’s policies. Kaysia takes a solution-approach position and is willing to explore alternatives, having all concerned parties content with the outcome. She is approachable and savvy.

Perhaps it is this aspect of her, together with her impressive resume, that attracted Jamaica’s largest financial institution.

Perrin Gayle, NCB’s Executive Vice President of Retail Banking

In her new role at NCB Financial Group, Kaysia Johnson Vaughan will be reporting to Perrin Gayle, who is NCB’s Executive Vice President of Retail Banking. Gayle also has responsibility for wealth distribution, marketing and communications, payments and digital channels.

Gayle made the move from Scotia Group to join NCB  at the end of last year and would have been aware of Kaysia’s abilities. It’s like Jude Bellingham encouraging Trent Alexander Arnold to leave Liverpool and come join Real Madrid.

Speaking to what Kaysia Johnson Vaughan brings to the table, Perrin Gayle said: “I am pleased to have Kaysia join the NCB family. She brings to our team a wealth of knowledge across many areas such as marketing, public relations, event planning and Small Business Banking.

“I look forward to her creative and innovative approach to marketing. Kaysia is a strong leader and will be a great addition to our team.”

Kaysia Johnson Vaughan has over fifteen years of experience which covers banking, retail and insurance, making marketing and communications her speciality.

At Scotiabank, she was instrumental in deepening client relationships, improving service delivery and accelerating SME portfolio growth across the region. She played a pivotal role in seeing to it that both the Scotia Women Initiative and Scotiabank Vision Achiever Programme gained traction and went from strength to strength.

Kaysia was undoubtedly one of Scotia Group Jamaica’s CEO Audrey Tugwell Henry’s “ angels out there”- part of a fantastic team the Scotia boss has assembled and she will be missed by the “ Reds” .

Though known as a long-standing Scotia banking executive, Kaysia was at one time Head of Marketing and Retail Services at JN General Insurance Company where she led retail strategy and marketing innovation. At Jamaica National, she was also appointed as Public Relations and Communications Officer of its Building Society operations.

Her career hasn’t been all about financial services. She was a sales executive at Red Stripe as well as a Category Manager at Lascelle’s Wine and Spirits, where she held that position for over three years.

Kaysia is not your sterile-type banker. She is a former Miss Jamaica Festival Queen. Last year, she was named a “Woman of Impact” by the Canadian High Commission, and this year she was listed among CIO Views Magazine’s Top 10 “Most Influential Black Women Leaders Redefining Success”.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications from CARIMAC, University of the West Indies and an MBA in Marketing from the Mona School of Business.
