KC, Edwin Allen claim respective Champs titles

Kingston College secured its fourth consecutive hold on the Mortimer Geddes trophy, while Edwin Allen High returned to winning ways as the respective boys’ and girls’ champions in the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships on Saturday (March 23).

After five days of exhilarating sportsmanship at the National Stadium, the North Street outfit finished the youth development championships with 335 points to comfortably hold off closest challengers Jamaica College in second (278 points).

Calabar High School (194), Excelsior High (122) and St Jago High (111.5) rounded out the top five ranked boys’ schools on points.

It was a nail-biting finish for Edwin Allen High on the girls’ side, as the Chapleton light blues upstaged the Ferry-based Hydel School to win their first trophy since 2022.

Top five girls’ schools are ranked below:

Edwin Allen High – 335.5 points
Hydel School – 326 points
St Jago High – 171 points
Holmwood Technical High – 149 points
Wolmer’s School for Girls – 128.5 points
