Kingston Creative will host a flavorful and timely cultural dialogue on the heritage and future of Jamaican cuisine at its upcoming Creative Meetup this Friday, October 3, 2025.

The event, taking place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kingston Creative Coworking Space at 107 Harbour Street, brings together artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural thought leaders to explore the deep connection between Jamaican food, culture, and identity. This month’s theme, “Foodies: Jamaican Food Traditions,” will feature a powerful panel discussion with some of the island’s most innovative culinary figures.

Lisa Binns, Executive Chef and Co-Principal of STUSH in the BUSH

The panel will include Lisa Binns, the celebrated Executive Chef and Co-Principal of the multi-award-winning plant-based destination STUSH in the BUSH; Kamila McDonald, a restaurateur, culinary artist, and founder of The WellFit Club & Kamila’s Kitchen, whose work is inspired by her Rastafari upbringing; and Chef Norman Stewart, the Executive Chef at the ROK Hotel, recognized for his innovative approach to elevated dining experiences.

Te’-Lor Woolery-Eugene, Kingston Creative Marketing Manager.

The discussion will be moderated by Te’-Lor Woolery-Eugene, who will guide the conversation on how Jamaican food carries memory and history while serving as a powerful driver of the creative economy.

Following the insightful panel discussion and an audience Q&A session, the evening will transition into a multi-sensory experience. Attendees will enjoy tasting sessions, including dessert tastings provided by Coco Cups Jamaica and the Culinary Institute of Jamaica and a performance from spoken work artiste Simone “Fruit Tree” Dewar.

The event will conclude with a networking mixer, providing a valuable opportunity for members of the creative sector to connect. This month, attendees are also specially invited to network with the graduates of the FAME Incubator, Jamaica’s first all-female creative entrepreneurship cohort, who will be in attendance.

Kingston Creative’s monthly meetups are designed to foster connection and conversation within Jamaica’s vibrant arts and culture scene. Media members are invited to attend the event to cover the live panel discussion, the food demonstration, and to conduct interviews with the featured panellists.
