Knight attains World Championship qualifying mark with fastest time into the Women’s 400 hurdles final

The improving Andrenette Knight looked to be in immaculate condition as she easily won her 400m semi-final in 54.63 seconds and was the fastest into the final.

In fact, she is the only runner to make the World Championship qualifying mark of 54.65.

The next best time heading into the final is Shian Salmon, who won the semi-final two in 55.90. The 2021 Olympic bronze medallist, Janieve Russell, was way down in 1:00.66, but managed to make the final.

In the Men’s 400m, Assinie Wilson of Titans was fastest into the final, winning semi-final two in 49.27. Race favourite Roshawn Clarke ran a measured race and won his heat in 49.99.

Malik James King went out hard and won his semi-final in 50.74 after easing up when he was safe. Tyreece Hyman with 49.96 also looked good.
