With 100 per cent of ballots accounted for in the powerful Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), a deadlock has seemingly emerged between the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the minority caucus of the People’s National Party (PNP).
According to preliminary live updates from the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) on Monday evening (February 26), both the JLP and the PNP equally share 20 divisions across the parishes of Kingston (three) and St Andrew (17).
Across Jamaica, the PNP also seems to be leading in the parishes of St Catherine (23), Westmoreland (11), Manchester (12) and Clarendon (12).
The governing JLP enjoys a divisional lead in St Ann (11), St Elizabeth (nine), St James (11), Trelawny (six) and Portland (six).
