Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray’s era with the Arizona Cardinals is ending next week, as the team plans to release the former No. 1 overall pick at the start of the new league year.

In a heartfelt message to fans, Murray apologised for not bringing a Super Bowl to the city that embraced him.

Murray’s Arizona journey began with promise. He earned AP Offensive Rookie of the Year honours in 2019 despite leading the league in sacks and electrifying the team with a 7-0 start in 2021. That season ended with a Wild Card loss to the LA Rams, and injuries increasingly limited his time on the field, with just one full season in the last three years.

Over seven seasons, the 28-year-old threw for 20,460 yards, 121 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions. As he heads toward free agency, Murray is expected to draw interest from teams looking for a quarterback, though no destinations have been reported yet.
