DJ Young Slade, born Nathan Smith and son of Lil Jon, has died at the age of 27.

Nathan, a talented music producer, artiste, and NYU graduate, was remembered by his parents as kind, thoughtful, and deeply caring, with a love for family and friends that shone through in everything he did.

Nathan had been reported missing earlier this week, and his body was recovered from a pond in Milton, Georgia, about 30 miles north of Atlanta.

Authorities said there was no sign of foul play. Lil Jon expressed his heartbreak and gratitude to the Milton Police Department for their help in the search, recalling the love and pride he and Nathan’s mother felt for their son.
