After finding new love late last year, Mozein Sutherland, 2022 winner of the televised Digicel Rising Stars talent contest, says he will unleash his newfound joy through his upcoming single She’s Coming Over at the Live & Direc concert later this month.
Live & Direc will be held on June 28 at the Constant Spring Golf Club in St. Andrew, where Mozein will perform before the main acts Brian McKnight, Dru Hill and Sisco.
He said a new date has not yet been finalised for when She’s Coming Over will be released, but it should be out this month. It is a single he began working on in the studio in May. “It’s all about love, and I guess I don’t really need to say much about that, because love comes from a very deep place from the heart. I found the inspiration from love from a relationship that started six months ago,” Mozein told Our Today at the launch event for Live & Direc at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston on Wednesday, June 4.

Mozein is also working on an EP, from which he says fans can expect teasers on his social media platforms, and then the songs on streaming and web player platforms Apple Music, Audio Mac, iTunes and Spotify.
For the Live & Direc concert, he said fans can expect his performance to have “a lot of fun and a lot of engagements with the audience”.
Following Mozein’s performance at the launch event, was Joby Jay, Jamaica’s eclectic artiste who has been well-known for drawing inspiration from genres such as reggae, jazz, and afro beats, who will also be performing at the Live & Direc concert, gave a preview of her expected delivery on stage with two of her hit singles Real Love and Last Time.

“Fans can expect good vibes, nice reggae music, classic reggae songs from some female reggae artistes. I’m going to sing some songs I know the Jamaican people will appreciate, and I love to always give credit to the women who came before me,” Joby Jay told Our Today immediately after her performance.
“I’m looking forward to putting on a good show, connecting with the audience and preparing the people for the main act,” she said.
Given that Brian McKnight’s birthday was the day following the launch event, she also sang the general Happy Birthday song and wished him blessings from Jamaica before he journeys to the island for the third staging of the event.
Joby Jay, who previously won the VM Wealth Breakthrough Artiste of the Year and is well-known for her unique sound and hit single Big Girl Ting, said, just as Mozein, she too is working on new music that fans can expect.

“I’m working on a lot of music right now, so I’m just looking forward to when I can release again. I don’t have any dates, but I’m always working, making sure I’m improving as an artist and ensuring that my fans are fed,” Joby Jay said. “I don’t know about any tours right now, but I hope that will be in the works soon.”
The day immediately after Live & Direc, Joby Jay will be performing in Montego Bay, which she says fans can also come out to see her in her element on stage.
Joby Jay has also been well-known for her hard work, dedication, and collaborations for a compilation project in Switzerland. She is also the winner of the VM Wealth Breakthrough Artiste of the Year 2022 at the JaRIA Awards.
