Lynk, Jamaica’s leading digital wallet, and Yello Media Group, the Caribbean’s largest media and advertising solutions agency for over 35 years, announced that the companies have entered a strategic partnership to launch a new eCommerce solution for MSMEs.

The new product is designed to facilitate easy access to eCommerce services and payment platforms for micro, small & medium businesses. The partnership taps into Yello’s mission of connecting businesses to consumer needs and Lynk’s dedicated effort to grow small businesses through its digital payment solutions.

“This partnership with Yello is the next evolution of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility,” said Denise Williams, chief growth officer at Lynk. “COVID proved to us the importance of eCommerce, yet still many smaller businesses are unable to afford the costs associated with building a website and integrating online payment platforms. This is an affordable option which caters to the widest cross section of Jamaicans – our app links the banked to the unbanked with its low Know Your Customer requirements which allow for an easy download and sign-up process,” she added.

The Lynk and Yello eCommerce Solution is a model also designed to diversify options for Jamaican customers seeking to do their shopping online. This programme is made possible by Lynk’s business platform, LynkBiz, which provides business owners several ways to integrate a digital payment platform into their businesses including a ‘Scan to Pay’ QR code at physical locations and a ‘Pay with Lynk’ button to enable eCommerce transactions on business websites.

Sports streaming application, CSport has been piloting Lynk’s online payment option since October with much success, while other businesses such as Fesco and Juici Patties have been successfully using the ‘Scan to Pay’ with Lynk option in select locations.

As part of the partnership, Yello says it will support businesses with its website development solution as the first phase of the partnership. Both companies plan to roll out a full-suite of services to help business owners seamlessly enter the digital economy.

This partnership comes as the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD) has ranked Jamaica among the top economies poised for eCommerce development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Over the next three months, Lynk and Yello will take that positioning and make it a reality by providing hundreds of MSMEs with access to the Yello eCommerce Website Product, powered by Lynk.

While we are targeting the MSME market, businesses of all sizes can benefit from our partnership. With our wide-ranging Website Development solutions, and further, our establishment of Imagine Digital – our digital marketing entity, Yello ensures that we fully cater to your needs, whether your business is small, medium, or large.

Both companies will officially launch their partnership at the upcoming EXPO Jamaica from April 27 to 30. At the Expo, Lynk and Yello will also offer business registration seminars to enable micro and small businesses to review and complete the necessary document requirements to get on the LynkBiz platform and access a Lynk powered eCommerce website from Yello. Businesses are required to present valid business registration documents, a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) or proof of a TCC application, proof of a bank account and valid identification for all listed directors.
