Magnitude 3.1 earthquake shakes sections of Jamaica

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was felt in sections of Jamaica Thursday morning (September 12).

According to the Earthquake Unit located at the University of the West Indies, Mona, campus, the earthquake occurred at 11:07 am.

The epicentre of the quake was located approximately 10 km south of Buff Bay, Portland. The tremor was reportedly felt in Kingston and St Andrew.
