Majah Hype, a renowned comedian known for his Caribbean-themed comedy content, is currently in prison in Georgia, facing serious charges of simple battery and felony charges of making “terroristic threats and acts”.
According to authorities at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office adult detention facilities, Hype, whose real name is Nigel Theron Joseph, has remained in custody without bond since Sunday (February 19).
This is not Hype’s first run-in with the law as, in December 2020, his ex-girlfriend Latisha Kirby Farrell made allegations of physical assault against the comedian which resulted in him being arrested and charged in January 2021 with two felony counts of kidnapping, as well as terroristic threats and acts and simple battery.
It is not yet clear if the charges are related to a domestic abuse incident.
