The Caribbean Carnival ecosystem has united in an unprecedented regional relief effort to support families across Jamaica who continue to face major challenges after Hurricane Melissa.

MasOS, the Carnival commerce and operations platform developed by CaribbeanOS, has activated a post-purchase relief message across all masquerader receipt emails issued by bands on the platform.

Masqueraders who complete a purchase through any MasOS-powered band will now see an optional link to the Government of Jamaica’s official hurricane relief portal. The link appears only after checkout, does not interrupt the purchase experience, and does not route any funds through MasOS or any participating band.

This simply provides a safe and credible way to help for those who wish to contribute.

Matthew Houllier, co-founder of MasOS and CaribbeanOS, emphasised Jamaica’s significance within the regional Carnival network.

He explained that Jamaican music, design, creativity, and cultural influence help shape Carnivals across multiple islands, so supporting Jamaica at this time was a natural decision.

He noted that many families remain without basic essentials and are still working to recover after the storm, adding: “The wider Carnival community has the power to make meaningful contributions when we move together.”

The initiative is officially endorsed by Carnival in Jamaica and supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board.

Chairman Kamal Bankay highlighted the importance of regional unity, noting that Jamaica’s Carnival sector has long been intertwined with Carnivals in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, and the wider diaspora. He expressed appreciation for the effort and affirmed that every act of support helps families striving to rebuild their lives after the hurricane.

He also pointed out that the initiative reflects the spirit of Carnival, which is a tradition rooted in community and togetherness.

MasOS is the Carnival commerce and operations platform developed by CaribbeanOS. It is used by more than 200 Carnival bands, concierge companies, and Monday Wear designers across the Caribbean and global diaspora. The platform manages costume inventory, payments, fulfilment workflows, and masquerader communications for events in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, Antigua, Japan, the UAE (Dubai), and beyond.

MasOS powers all three major Carnival bands in Jamaica and is an official technology partner of Carnival in Jamaica, operating under the leadership of chairman Kamal Bankay.

CaribbeanOS continues to enhance the platform’s capabilities, supporting bands, designers, and production teams with a more efficient and secure way to manage the full Carnival sales lifecycle.
