Caribbean Broilers appoints MDS distributor of its True Pet Food in Jamaica

Jamaican pharmaceuticals and consumer items distributor, Medical Disposables & Supplies Limited (MDS) has expanded its business to the Cayman Islands.

This has been done through the formation of a joint venture company, MDS Cayman, which will function as an associate company to MDS Jamaica that holds a 30% stake. This associate company will be engaged in the distribution of pharmaceutical and medical products to hospitals, clinics and other healthcare-related facilities in Cayman and the Caribbean region. 

MDS advises that the formation of its Cayman associate company began in October 2024, and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2025.

True Pet Food Distributor in Jamaica

MDS has also advised that the Company has been appointed as a distributor of True Pet Food in Jamaica. True Pet Food is a Jamaican pet food brand, owned by the Caribbean Broilers Group. True Pet Food, a nutritious food developed for Caribbean dogs, is a Jamaican pet food brand, owned by the Caribbean Broilers Group.

MDS Chief Executive Officer, Kurt Boothe is optimistic of the company’s growth and expansion moving forward into 2025. 

In its 2024 Annual Report published last month, Boothe commented, “Throughout this time, we have grown our bottom line exponentially, increased our property and facilities, achieved inorganic growth through our first business acquisition, improved information technology support, boosted cyber security systems, introduced digital solutions for internal order submissions, balanced and diversified our portfolio through the establishment of our Consumer Division, expanded our brand presence in new customer segments and successfully transitioned the reins of leadership through deliberate succession planning.”
