Principal of Meadowbrook High School Kevin Facey has confirmed that a bomb threat forced the early closure of operations at the school on Monday, November 25, 2024.

With the revelation, the principal has indicated that it is safe for students and staff to return to school.

“We received a bomb scare at school today. We alerted the authorities and activated relevant procedures to ensure the safety of students, staff and other users of our campus,” he stated in a letter addressed to “stakeholders”.

Following the checks by the authorities, the school compound was declared to be safe. In the meantime, the school and authorities have continued investigating the bomb threat.

While informing that the school resume today, the letter advised parents and guardians that they “have the right to keep their child / ward at home tomorrow (today) if they feel this would be best”.

The letter also detailed activities leading up to the end of the Christmas term including end-of-term examinations and a carol service that will bring the term to a close.

The bomb threat on Monday was the second in just over a year after a similar incident occurred on November 14, 2023.
