

The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, in partnership with Guardian Life Limited, signed a contract to bring into effect the Group Health Insurance for Jamaica Entertainers and Creatives Plan.
On August 19, Minister Olivia Grange and Eric Hosin, Group President of Life, Health and Pension at Guardian Group signed the historic step in supporting the entertainers and creatives artistes.
Among the first set of entertainers to receive their new health insurance cards were:
- David McDermott (Kukudoo)
- Shawn Ferguson

- Billy Mystic
- George Nooks
- Dr Amina Blackwood
- Michelle Graham
- Carlton Scarlet
- Bunny Rose
- Oniel Donegal
- Christopher Smith
- Anthony Cameron
This comes in addition to the life insurance coverage that the Ministry already provides for entertainers and creatives through an earlier contract with Guardian Life.

Minister Grange said the large turnout at the signing ceremony at the Ministry reflected the deep appreciation of the creative community for this added benefit, which marks another step in safeguarding the well-being of those who give so much to Jamaica’s cultural life.
