There are more changes to problem-plagued digital media outfit iCreate, with news of the resignation of the existing company secretary and the planned installation of a new one.

The board of directors of iCreate is announcing the appointment of Jahmar Clarke as company secretary and internal legal counsel with effect from tomorrow, February 1, 2024. He replaces Demetrie Adams, who resigned from the position effective December 31, 2023.

However, Adams had opted to remain in office until today, January 31, 2024, when his resignation takes effect, having served in this role since 2020. The incoming company secretary and internal legal counsel is an experienced attorney-at-law with experience in industrial relations, labour /employment law, commercial law, mergers & acquisitions and more.

The Tyrone Wilson-led company has thanked Adams for his four years of service to iCreate and took the opportunity to welcome Clarke to the new position. Two weeks ago, the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) suspended iCreate from trading shares on its junior market index.

Second strike

This is second strike on the beleaguered digital firm in less than five months. In a brief notice on January 18, the JSE advised that iCreate “failed to comply” with ongoing requirements, as stipulated in Section 14 (a) (i) of Rule 505 in the junior market rule book.

“The notice of suspension shall remain in force until iCreate has responded to the satisfaction of the JSE to all matters concerning its compliance with the JSE Junior Market Rules,” the domestic stock market regulator disclosed.

A debt-laden iCreate was previously hit with a shares trading suspension on August 21, 2023, when the company was found to be in breach of Appendix 2, Part 4(2).
