Mount Pleasant FA has been fined $25,000 by the Jamaica Football Federation’s Competitions Committee after listing seven non-national players in the game against Racing United on April 10, 2025.
The breach didn’t merit Mount Pleasant forfeiting the points as per rules, six non-nationals can be on the field of play, and they used five of those players.
In a statement to the club Mount Pleasant, the committee stated that as per article 17.3 of the 2024-25 JPL Regulations, any club which fields an ineligible player (participated in the game) shall lose the game.
But from the match card they received, the committee noted that only five players participated in the game.

The seven non-national players are Miguel Joseph, Franco Celestin, Johnson Jeudy, Emerson Liasse, Melvin Doxilly, Angelo Exillus and Clifford Thomas.
The article further states that where a player’s name appears on the team sheet/match card as a list of players available to participate, the club will be fined $25,000, hence, the decision to fine the Mount Pleasant FA.
“We acknowledged that a breach has occurred in this instance, hence, the Mount Pleasant will be fined accordingly,” said the committee.
Mount Pleasant will have to pay the fine by May 23, 2025.
