Mount Pleasant’s goalkeeper Shaquan Davis is a late addition to the Reggae Boyz squad after he replaced Coniah Boyce-Clarke who has been recalled by his club Reading FC.

The 21-year-old Boyce-Clarke who represented England Youth teams 11 times, was an unused substitute in Jamaica’s 0-0 draw with Cuba on Friday.

However, an injury to one of Reading FC’s first-team goalkeepers left the English League One club no choice but to send for backup.

Boyce-Clarke earned his first call-up to the Reggae Boyz squad in March against Mexico and made his debut against St Kitts and Nevis in the 2023 Gold Cup. He has one cap for Jamaica.

The Reggae Boyz which had a recovery session this morning, departed the island this afternoon at 2:30 pm for Honduras and Davis was a part of the team.

The 23-year-old Davis made his debut for Jamaica against Trinidad and Tobago in March in an International Friendly and was a part of the 2024 Copa America Cup squad.

Jamaica having drawn 0-0 with Cuba on Friday will take on Honduras next Tuesday in their second Nations League match.
