
Nicholas Nelson hit a hat-trick as Molynes United edged Tivoli Gardens 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday.
Nelson, who left the club a few years ago to Mount Pleasant FA, then Dunbeholden FC, made a brilliant return to Molynes United, scoring in the 4th, 51st and 54th minutes.
Denville Watson in the 6th and Anthony Nelson in the 82nd replied for Tivoli Gardens.
Molynes United are ninth on 20 points while Tivoli Gardens slipped a spot to eighth on 22 points.
Meanwhile, former champions Arnett Gardens’ revival continued as they defeated Waterhouse FC 1-0 in the feature encounter at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday night and jumped into the last playoff spot.
Shai Smith netted the winner in the 61st minute and propelled Arnett Gardens to their seventh win from 16 games, and jumped two places to sixth on 22 points.
Waterhouse FC’s struggles continued as they succumbed to their eighth loss from 18 games to be in 11th spot on 18 points.
However, they are just four points adrift of the last playoff spot held by Arnett Gardens.
