Despite her return to the main stage for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show and the release of a new single, Rihanna says fans will have to wait a little longer before she releases an album.
While promoting her upcoming Savage X Fenty Volume 4 show, the Barbadian singer spoke about her return to the main stage for the halftime show and gave an update on her album.
She described the Super Bowl as a “now or never” opportunity that she only agreed to because of its special nature.
“It was a stage bigger than anything I’ve ever done. And it was one of those things like, if I’m going to leave my baby, I’m going to leave my baby for something special,” she told the Associated Press.

After multiple pregnancy rumours, Rihanna announced in January of this year that she was expecting a child with her partner ASAP Rocky.
The pair welcomed the birth of their son on May 13, and have since been very protective of their child’s privacy.
But, this performance does not mean a full return to the music industry for the billionaire entrepreneur.
“The second that I announced this, I said, ‘Oh, my God, they’re going to think my album is coming. I need to get to work’,” she recalled.
However, there is no new album on its way from the Grammy award winning singer. When asked if the Super Bowl meant an album was on its way she shut rumours down with the remark “that’s not true”.
“Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing,” she jokingly said to expecting fans.

Though there won’t be an album release, fans can stream her recently released single while they anxiously await her full return.
Last month, Rihanna released Lift Me Up, her first single in six years.
The song was a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman who starred as the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Lift Me Up will be the lead single for Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which hits theatres on November 11.
