Norman Chen confirmed as tTech CEO

After acting in the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Information Technology (IT) firm, tTech Limited since last December, Norman Chen has been confirmed in the post.

The Board of Directors of tTech Limited has announced its decision to formally appoint Chen as the new CEO, replacing Christopher Reckord. Reckord resigned last November after nearly 10 years of association with the company and leading it for more than four years. 

The decision to confirm Chen was taken at the Board meeting on July 27, 2023. Chen, who was serving as a director of the company was appointed acting CEO on December 1, 2022.

He has served in several management and executive roles at tTech since joining the company and has deep knowledge of its operations and the industry. Since his appointment, Chen has led a turnaround of the tTech with year-to-date revenues up 27.5% over 2022 and reversing a year-to-date loss of J$12.1 million to a profit of J$12.7 million.

The directors say they are “confident that under Norman’s leadership, tTech will move into a new growth phase while continuing to deliver the excellent customer experience that the company is known for.” He is a highly qualified IT specialist with years of experience within the IT industry and is considered an extremely motivated professional with an impressive set of competencies in the field. 

His exemplary career began when he joined Commnett Caribbean Limited, where he worked his way up to Chief Technical Officer over the course of nine years. From there he went on to head Fujitsu’s IT Department and then to NC Associates as a Project Manager and IT Consultant. 

Chen is also an accomplished academic who has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, a Research Fellowship from Brown University, Rhode Island, USA and several certifications in Information Technology from recognized institutions.
