Dancehall songs encouraging a lifestyle surrounding scamming and gun violence continue to be among the list of top trending songs in Jamaica.

For years there have been growing concerns about the shift in the culture of dancehall music and the message it has been sending to youths in Jamaica.

To reduce the exposure of these songs, the Broadcasting Commission on Tuesday (October 11) announced the immediate ban on songs that promote or glorify these activities on TV, radio, or cable.

Our Today has been monitoring the trending songs in Jamaica which reveal that songs about guns, drugs and scamming have topped the YouTube charts in Jamaica for months and continue to do so.
