Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reporting that there are currently 4,171 uncollected payments being held by remittance agencies for Reverse Income Tax Credit (RITC) disbursements.

TAX is urging individuals who have not yet collected their payments to do so before March 7 to avoid the money being returned to the Consolidated Fund as required by law.

Taxpayers are reminded that they will need to have a valid government-issued identification on their person as well as the transaction number sent to them via text or email when the notification of the disbursement being ready was communicated.

To date, the government has disbursed J$6.9 billion of the one-time tax giveback payments to 346,085 eligible individuals, who have benefitted since the October 2024 implementation.

Though applications are closed, taxpayers can still access the Reverse Income Tax Credit Hub, on the TAJ portal at https://www.jamaicatax.gov.jm/ritc, to facilitate persons using the “Track Status of Application” option, or getting relevant information about RITC to include Frequently Asked Questions.

The application deadline for new applicants expired on December 13, 2024, and re-application deadline on January 31 for the RITC..
