Owayne Gordon netted the winner in the 77th minute, propelling Montego Bay United to their 10th win from 16 games and on to 32 points, three clear of Racing United, which battled to a 1-1 draw with Mount Pleasant FA.
At Drax Hall, Jeudy Johnson scored for Mount Pleasant in the 54th minute while Tajay Grant earned a share of the points for Racing United, scoring in the 68th minute.
Racing United, which has now drawn their last five of their last six games and inched to 29 points in second spot, while Mount Pleasant are fourth on 24 points.
Portmore United played to a 0-0 draw with Phoenix Chapelton Maroons at Ferdie Neita Park and maintained their spot on 27 points, while Phoenix Chapelton Maroons are seventh on 19 points.
At Waterhouse Stadium, home team Waterhouse FC played to a 0-0 draw with Cavaliers SC, who are in fifth spot with 23 points, while Waterhouse FC are in 10th with 17 points.
Struggling Treasure Beach scored a crucial win, beating Molynes United 2-1 and jumped out of the relegation zone into 12th spot on 15 points. Molynes United are 11th with 16 points.
