Beverage manufacturing and distribution giant Pepsi-Cola Jamaica has joined the national recovery effort with a US$50,000 donation in support of communities following Hurricane Melissa’s destructive passage through the western section of the island.

It covers approximately 9,000 cases of water, Gatorade, and Pepsi products.

To date, the company has already distributed more than 3,000 cases to support relief efforts in some of the hardest-hit parishes, including St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland. Deliveries have been made through coordinated partnerships with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Romeich Entertainment, and other grassroots community-based organisations to reach affected families and first responders.

Alberto Ramirez, general manager of Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, explained that the company’s focus remains on being a reliable partner to Jamaica in moments of need.

“Hurricane Melissa has tested the resilience of our communities, but it has also reminded us of the strength of our people. Pepsi-Cola Jamaica has always been proud to serve this country, and in moments like this, our role goes beyond business; it’s about being there for Jamaica. We’re committed to doing our part to help rebuild lives and bring relief where it’s needed most,” he said.

Over the coming days, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica says it will continue to work with its partners to distribute an additional 6,000 cases of beverages, including 1,000 cases, to shelters, emergency responders, and community organisations supporting recovery operations across the island.

“While this marks the first phase of the company’s relief efforts, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica’s work will not stop here. The team is continuing to engage with national and community stakeholders to assess needs and identify additional ways to provide meaningful support in the weeks ahead,” it added.
