Reigning Jamaica Premier League champions Portmore United inflicted a fifth straight loss to Humble Lion on Sunday (July 25) with a 3-0 victory at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence at the University of the West Indies.

Captain Ricardo Morris and Javick McFarlane scored their third and second goals for the season in the 30th and 58th minutes respectively, while Chavany Willis got his first in the 84th as Portmore romped to an easy victory.

The win assisted Portmore to return to the top of the points standing after being overtaken by Vere United on Saturday.

Portmore are on 12 points from their five matches, one ahead of Vere with Harbour View in third place on eight points, as Cavalier on seven and Dunbeholden on six, complete the top five.

Humble Lion, however, are stuck at the bottom of the points standings as they have lost all their matches so far in the competition and are without a point, having conceded 11 goals and only scoring two.

Portmore took the lead when Demar Rose provided the pass for Morris to slam past goalkeeper Mikhail Harrison, who McFarlane beat for a second time to increase the lead, as substitute Willis scored an excellent goal from well outside the penalty box to complete the scoring
