Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness has lauded Jamaica’s Calabash Literary Festival on Saturday, describing the event held in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth as “one of Jamaica’s most inspiring cultural events”.
Dr Holness, who attended the event, admitted to having a wonderful time, saying, “It’s always refreshing to be surrounded by passionate storytellers and readers who love our rich Caribbean literature. Events like Calabash show just how alive and vibrant our culture is. Big thanks to the organisers for keeping this space going and growing.”
He encouraged all Jamaican to continue to “support our writers and pass on the love of reading, especially to the next generation.”
