Racing United jumped to the top of the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League with a 4-1 hammering of Treasure Beach FC, while Dunbeholden FC and Molynes United battled to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Racing United, with their eighth win from 17 games, moved to 32 points and lead Montego Bay United only by goal difference, having played a game more.

After a goalless first half, Nickyle Ellis opened the scoring for Racing in the 52nd before Jevaughn Brown doubled the advantage in minute 59. Nicholas Lawrenece pulled one back for Treasure Beach in the 66th minute. But substitute Chavanny Willis netted in the 68th minute, making it 3-1 before Mickyle Williams sealed the victory, scoring in the 90+4 minute from the penalty spot.

The promoted Treasure Beach, which was losing their eighth game of the season, remained in 12th spot on 15 points, just one above the relegation zone.

At the Dunbeholden Sports Complex, home team Dunbeholden were held to a 1-1 draw by Molynes United.

Odane Samules gave Dunbeholden a 53rd-minute lead, before Dhumar McLaughlin earned a share of the points for Molynes United, scoring in the 69th minute.

The result was a setback for both teams, which are pushing for a top-six playoff spot, as Dunbeholden are in eighth spot on 18 points, four adrift of Tivoli Gardens in sixth on 22 points. Molynes United are further back in 10th with 17 points.

The competition continues on Thursday with four games.
