On the heels of securing their historic third-place podium finish at the ADAC GT4 Germany championships, Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell are in advanced negotiations with German automobile manufacturer Porsche, as their main sponsor for their 2025 season.

Earlier this year, Gore and Summerbell teamed up to form the strongest racing team in the Caribbean and took on Europe’s best flying the Jamaican colours, initially co-piloting an AUDI R8 branded all-Jamaican car under the SAPE Motor Sports team banner.

However, there were some setbacks, and despite a difficult start to the 2024 season, their impact on the championships was enough to give them a second chance, in which they signed a new deal with W&S Motorsport that saw them racing a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for the remainder of their championship season.

“It was an amazing journey for two young men from Jamaica, who came out of nowhere and jumped into the line of fire. It was a challenging journey, and we are very proud of their achievements. Based on their phenomenal results, we are working towards surpassing their achievements on the circuit for 2025, with the continuation of and addition of new sponsors for the season,” Doug Gore said during a thank-you reception to their sponsors at the S Hotel on Saturday, December 14.

Heading into the 2025 season, Gore and Summerbell also used the opportunity to thank their sponsors for their commitment to their success. Chief among them was Sherwin Williams, which was among the first entities to take a chance on them.

“We are happy to be a part of the history that has been created. This is one of the greatest partnerships in motorsport right now. We are happy that we picked the right team, with Jamaican cars, representing Jamaica,” said Kenneth Richardson, district manager, Sherwin Williams.

Other sponsors that were recognized included the S Hotel. Christopher Issa, CEO of the Crissa Group, said they were happy to have been part of such a momentous occasion for the motor racing industry.

“This is a win for brand Jamaica, as the duo have demonstrated that teamwork, can result in paramount success. We are happy to be a part of this ground-breaking accomplishment by Tommi and Senna, and we look forward to our continued partnership,” Issa said.

Other sponsors recognized included Q8 Oils (Bearings and Accessories), Sandals Hotel, Jamaica Tourist Board, Barita Investments, Mobay Freight, JSRA and Bell Safety.

The duo, sons of Jamaican racing icons, Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore and David Summerbell (Jnr), are intent on following in their fathers’ footsteps. Gore and Summerbell are two of the best racing drivers in Jamaica and the Caribbean; both having won several international competitions in and outside of the Caribbean.

After competing in the Caribbean Radical Cup and Radical Cup UK, Tommi Gore made his debut in Formula 4 Central Europe at the end of 2023. “When we saw the big guys performing, we were still optimistic that we would at least make it in the top 10 of the series. This was our debut season and as rookies. Our presence created a great impact for us and by extension Jamaica. We await our exploits in 2025, as we work towards surpassing our historic achievement in 2024,” Tommi Gore said.

Senna Summerbell is a four-time Jamaican karting champion and raced in Formula Prototype Canada in 2023. Summerbell also has international experience having competed in the Radical Caribbean Cup in Barbados and Guyana. “At first it seemed unrealistic. When we started scouting for sponsors, I was in my last year at university, and we really worked hard to ensure that we would compete in the championships. Most nights our family and friends would call to check in on us, and this kept us motivated. We are anticipating an exciting 2025 series, and will work towards surpassing the expectations we had for this year,” Senna Summerbell said.

Gore and Summerbell copped third place in the first race and a top 5 final spot, delivering a phenomenal performance, nabbing Jamaica’s first-ever trophies in the series. In addition to the achievement for the pair, it also marked the first time Jamaica was represented in the famous European GT4 motorsport event.

The ADAC GT4 racing series, which comprised a total of six race events at the legendary race courses in Germany and Austria from April to October this year, saw the Jamaicans also achieving a 14th overall placing in the championships.
