The year 2022 is off to an amazing start for pop singer-turned-beauty mogul Rihanna, who this week became the first Bajan to make the Forbes Billionaire list.
After years in the music, acting and beauty industries, Forbes estimated that Rihanna reached an overall net worth of a whopping US$1.7 billion back in August 2021.
However, it was not until Tuesday (April 5) that the magazine made her new stature among society’s one per cent “official official” by putting the entrepreneur on its annual list of the wealthiest people on Earth.
According to Forbes, while the Work hitmaker may be most famous for her musical career, “it’s her 50 per cent stake in cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty—which she co-owns with luxury conglomerate LVMH—that earned her a spot among the billionaires.”
Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, thanks to her increased net worth is now the wealthiest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer.
RiRi’s latest accomplishment follows news earlier this year that the 11th Bajan National Hero is expecting her first baby with rapper A$AP Rocky.
While we can’t help a slight sourness in our moods that our Caribbean queen appears to be doing everything but releasing new music, we continue to be proud of her growing success.
