On Thursday, June 18, the eve of her debut album release, Aza Lineage will bring the spirit of Rebel Daawta live to the stage of Crown Hill Theatre in Brooklyn.
She will be joined by Boston-based roots reggae artists Mighty Mystic and MediSun for an evening of conscious reggae music.
Doors open at 6 PM, show time will be 7 PM. Also joining them will be Kulcha Kartel with Vaughn All
Star from WKCR 89.9FM. A highlight of the evening is that fans will have the opportunity to purchase the first copies of the Rebel Daawta Vinyl LP.
Produced by King Jammy and released through VP Records, Rebel Daawta blends foundation reggae, sound system culture, conscious lyricism, and modern storytelling across 17 tracks. Built from classic riddims pulled from King Jammy’s iconic vaults, the project introduces Aza Lineage as one of reggae’s emerging voices while staying deeply rooted in the genre’s authentic foundation.
The album features collaborations with Johnny Osbourne, Jesse Royal, Brandon Rootz, and an opening introduction from veteran deejay Lone Ranger. Songs like “Rebels In Town,” “One Draw,” and “Sound
System” showcases Aza’s balance of militant roots, energy, spirituality, love, and social awareness. “Working with King Jammy really sharpened me as an artist, ” said Aza Lineage.
“This album represents growth, awareness, and staying true to myself and the foundation of reggae music.”
The Crown Hill Theatre performance marks the beginning of a new chapter for Aza Lineage as she steps fully into the spotlight with Rebel Daawta, an album rooted in reggae tradition while pushing the culture forward for a new generation.
