Rose Hall Great House has officially claimed the title of Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2025 at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA).
In a remarkable first-time nomination, the iconic heritage site triumphed over some of Jamaica’s most celebrated attractions, earning its place as the region’s top destination attraction. The award was presented on Saturday, October 4, at the World Travel Awards Caribbean & North America Gala Ceremony 2025 held at Sandals Grande Saint Lucian.
Representing the property, Richard Burrowes, President of Rose Hall Developments Limited, and Angele Nuñez-Rhooms, Manager of Operations—Rose Hall Great Houses, proudly accepted the accolade.
“I am so grateful for this award—it’s all thanks to the tour guides and staff at Rose Hall Great House. Their dedication and passion made this possible. This honour proves that hard work truly pays off,” said Angele Nuñez-Rhooms.
Steeped in mystery, history, and folklore, Rose Hall Great House is Jamaica’s oldest mansion and a shining example of preserved heritage. The Georgian-style estate is world-renowned for the chilling legend of Annee Palmer, the ‘White Witch of Rose Hall’.
Today, her story draws visitors from across the globe who come in search of both history and spine-tingling adventure.

The attraction offers two distinctive experiences:
- The Day & Garden Tour, where guests explore the house, artefacts, and surrounding grounds while learning about Jamaica’s colonial past.
- The Interactive Haunted Night Tour, available Wednesday through Saturday, immerses guests in the supernatural lore of Rose Hall, making it one of the Caribbean’s most thrilling experiences.
In keeping with its tradition of innovation, Rose Hall Great House will host its much-anticipated Halloween Tours from October 25–31, featuring heightened scares and festive activities. The celebration will culminate with the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) event on November 1, introduced last year to rave reviews.
“We are proud of the team at Rose Hall Great House. Their creativity and resilience have ensured that the history and legacy of Rose Hall remain alive for generations to come. I extend gratitude to our guests, partners, and supporters over the years—this award belongs to all of us,” said Richard Burrowes, President of Rose Hall Developments Limited.
This latest honour follows another milestone earlier this year when Rose Hall Great House received the Allied Member Award from the Jamaica Hotel and Tourism Association (JHTA) in August 2025. The property has also served as the host venue for the JHTA Montego Bay Chapter’s signature charity event, A Celebration of Fine Jamaican Cuisine, for the past two years and has been supporting the event for over a decade—earning recognition as a Longstanding Partner.
Catering to both international travellers and the local community, Rose Hall Great House continues to inspire and educate. Its discounted school group tours make it a popular destination for history students, while its family-friendly programming ensures that guests of all ages can enjoy its unique blend of culture, storytelling, and entertainment. With its first WTA win, Rose Hall Great House not only cements its place as Jamaica’s most captivating heritage attraction but also shines as a beacon of Caribbean tourism excellence.
