Sagicor Bank Jamaica (SBJ) is set to host its second annual tax planning and compliance conference on Monday (March 6) to assist small and medium-sized enterprises to file their income taxes ahead of the March 15 deadline.
The panel discussion, which will be streamed live on Sagicor Group Jamaica’s Instagram page at 6 pm, will explore topics such as challenges in navigating tax compliance, the implications of non-compliance, and how businesses can utilise their Sagicor Bank credit cards as a payment source for taxes without incurring interest expenses.
Michael Willacy, vice-president of Corporate, SME Business Banking & Strategic Business Development at Sagicor Bank said that the event was conceptualised specifically with the bank’s SME business clients in mind, as the information helps in the growth and development of these businesses.

“Sagicor Bank recognises the value of SMEs in Jamaica; therefore, it is essential, that we facilitate their growth.”
Willacy further noted that: “Accordingly, we launched this conference last year to provide them with valuable information to make their tax filing easier, and it received an overwhelmingly positive response, so we are hosting it again.”
The conversation will be led by moderator Dahlia Harris, and the panel will feature subject matter experts from within Sagicor, as well as the Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ).
Entrepreneurs can also reach out to the Sagicor Bank SME Business Resource Centre, located at 6C Constant Spring Road in Half-Way Tree, for further assistance.
