
Sound clash lovers, are you ready for the ultimate 80s and 90s clash experience? Sashi Synergy Sound Clash takes place today, May 24, at Plantation Cove, Ocho Rios Gates.
The event is geared towards bringing patrons back to the origin of sound clash culture, paying tribute to the heritage and competitive spirit of sound clash. Competitors include the world-class sound Bass Odyssey, Metro Media, Tony Matterhorn, and Ricky Trooper.
The event will also feature dancehall legends such as Professor Nuts, Peter Metro, Major Mackerel, General B, Terror Fabulous, Flourgon, Frisco Kid, and others.
Bass Odyssey

Bass Odyssey has become a household name because of its hardcore juggling style. Dubbed the World Champion Sound, the sound system is more than 30 years old. It was founded in Alexandria, St Ann, in 1989 by Keith Walford.
Bass Odyssey have won several sound clash titles, including the 2010 Guinness Sounds of Greatness and the UK Tag Team Cup Clash.
Its members include: Worm, Dwayne, Damion, Lexxy, Harry D, Keithy Keith, Country Speng, Villy, Bishawn, Price, Frasqo, Mario, Charly Blacks, Jovi National, Teejay Di Shooter, and Spread the Glory.
Metro Media

The legendary Metro Media sound system was founded by Lou Gooden in the 1960’s by Lou Gooden at Woodford Park, Kingston 4.
A champion sound in the clash world, the sound is associated with veteran selectors Sky Juice, Dj Oliver, Peter Metro, Charlie General, Hotta Blaxx, and others.
Tony Matterhorn

Renowned sound system selector Tony Matterhorn emerged in the sound system arena in the early 90s. He has won several local and international clashes, such as the World Clash and the UK Cup Clash.
A man of versatility, Tony Matterhorn also wears the hat of a DJ, with popular singles such as Goodas Mi Back Mi Back and Dutty Wine.
Ricky Trooper

Veteran selector Ricky Trooper has had an illustrious career in the dancehall arena. Over the years, he has worked with sound systems such as Metro Media, Bass Odyssey, and Kilimanjaro.
Trooper have also worked alongside dancehall talents such as Ninja Man, Bunny General, Papa San, and Lecturer.
Today, he is the owner of his very own Sound Trooper, a top sound system in Jamaica’s clash world.
