Schools to reopen in St Lucia on Monday after the passage of Tropical Storm Bret

Schools and nurseries in St Lucia are set to reopen on Monday (June 26) after the passage of Tropical Storm Bret says St Lucia’s Department of Education.

In a statement today (June 25), the Department of Education said it wishes to advise parents and guardians that school will re-open on Monday, June 26, 2023, at all institutions with the exception of Bexon Primary, Vieux Fort Primary, Belle Vue Combined and Mongouge Combined Schools.

The Department also noted that work has commenced to restore the four schools to conditions suitable for instruction.

An update on the date for the resumption of instruction at these institutions will be issued on Monday.

The Department also thanked everyone for their continued dedication and commitment to the education of our students and regrets any inconvenience caused due to the temporary closure of the four schools.

Schools were closed on Thursday (June 22) due to the imminent passage of Tropical Storm Bret.
