A high-profile English Premier League executive will no longer face a civil case alleging sexual abuse of a teenager. 

The executive, who remains anonymous under a court order, was accused of assaulting the claimant when she was 15 in the 1990s.

The alleged victim initially sought damages but contacted authorities over a year after the alleged incidents, meaning a criminal prosecution was barred under the legislation at the time. The civil claim, which included allegations of assault and battery, has now been formally dropped.

The Football Association confirmed that its safeguarding procedures remain in place, saying all concerns are assessed and investigated according to established rules, with measures applied where risks are identified, while declining to comment on individual cases.
