As promised, dancehall vixen Shenseea has released the fourth lead single, Deserve It, ahead of her upcoming debut album, and Shenyengs are more than pleased with the artiste’s production.

Released today (March 3), beating the new music Friday rush, the sound of the track is in keeping with her vow to produce a different style of music and divert from her signature dancehall approach.

“I feel like I just unlocked a different side of my voice, which is girlier, kid-type, because I’ve never done a song like this, to be honest. I’ve never done something like that… . It’s so new to hear,” Shenseea said.

The artiste took to Instagram to announce the then pending release. Clad in her MTV Push body suit, the artiste wrote: “Imma get what I deserve with or without you! #DeserveIT drops Tomorrow 🤎 . “

The R&B track, produced by Jamaican record producer Rvssian, is one in which the artiste appears smitten with her lover, providing a lengthy explanation for how he makes her feel, noting that she is deserving of his good treatment toward her.

Describing her lover as ‘perfect’, the track is one many can relate to, seemingly the honeymoon phase of her relationship.

Shenseea, in an interview with MTV Push, aired on Wednesday (March 2), shared that Deserve It is one she constantly listens to and attributes the frequent listening to her new R&B sound. She went on to note that she plays the song so often, to the point where members of her team have begun to grow tired of the record.

The deejay, while speaking with New Music Daily’s Zane Lowe, shared the thought process behind the single and how she intended audiences to perceive it.

“It’s a vibe. It’s a vibe. This one was co-written by an American writer too. I told him I wanted something running, with less space, and I wanted them to help me create it and they did just that. I feel like it’s perfect. It’s like, give you bubble gum, butterflies, kid; makes you feel like a kid if you’re not a kid; colorful, good energy. It’s just a vibe,” the artiste said.

Deserve It, which has so far managed to rack up more than 35,000 views, has been met by the artiste’s fans to much acclaim.

Fans on YouTube have expressed how proud they are of the dancehall princess and have praised the star for her versatile abilities.

Scores of fans took to Instagram to share similar sentiments, as well as a few celebrities and influencers. American rappers Busta Rhymes and Rubi Rose showed their support in the comment section, where @bustarhymes said
