Following reports that dancehall artiste Skeng was on Tuesday (May 24) arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, it appears the entertainer and his team rectified the matter as he was spotted in Trinidad and Tobago the same night.
In an Instagram video story repost by Trinidadian artiste, Yung Bredda, the dancehall deejay is seen standing in the background, clad in a white long-sleeved shirt, fitted jeans, Burberry cap, socks, slides and a knapsack.
In the video, which has the Trinidad and Tobago location tagged, the entertainer is casually standing among several persons as he rolls what appears to be a spliff. Whatever dialogue is taking place in the video, however, is inaudible as the artiste’s recent London track was added to the video.
It is not quite clear why Skeng travelled to Trinidad, however, prior to his appearance, Yung Bredda, in an earlier story post, says: ” Aye Bwoi! Yung Bredda and Skeng Don live tonight, all yuh look out for it, don’t go and sleep. Wake up! It’s that time.”
During the live, Skeng appears before the screen for only a few seconds before leaving.
Trinidad media personality Sunny Bling also made a few story posts of the artiste, with an uploaded reel showing behind the scenes footage of the live.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), which reported via Twitter that the artiste was arrested, has not yet released further details.
Skeng, whose real name is Kevon Douglas, was charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.
The artiste, in honour of Guyana’s independence celebrations today (May 26), will be headlining the ‘Baderation, Dancehall Mega Concert’ slated to take place tomorrow (May 27). Jamaica’s Shaneil Muir and Yung Bredda will also be performing.
Skeng will also be the headline act for or ‘Revival: Return of Dancehall’, which will feature Yung Bredda as well and take place in Trinidad this weekend.
