Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Skip Marley Minto has the honour and privilege of affectionately and calling the Honorable Marcia Griffiths his ‘aunty’.

Marcia Griffiths lovingly expressed that she has shared the stage with three generations of the Marley dynasty while dropping hints of an electrifying assortment of surprise guests slated for the Marcia Griffiths & Friends show on Sunday, November 3, at Hope Gardens in St Andrew. It’s safe to gather that we can expect an appearance from Skip Marley.

We caught up with Skip about what we can expect from him on November 3rd:

Q: You are the 3rd generation of Marley to perform with Marcia Griffiths, how significant is that for you?

A: It’s an honour and a privilege to be on the same stage with the legend who is also my grand aunt.

Q: How do you think Marcia has impacted reggae music?

A: It’s undeniable the impact that she has had on reggae music from the earlier years with Bob Andy to the I-Threes and still maintaining her solo career she has proven to the world that she is unstoppable.

Skip Marley says he is free in his creative process. The self-taught multi-instrumentalist says his guitar is his best friend and fans can look out for his set honouring his aunt at Hope Gardens this weekend.

Gates open at 3 pm, showtime is 6 pm. Marcia Griffiths & Friends – The massive musical showcase ends at 11 pm.
